Tech Support Specialist

We are looking for a Tech Support Specialist with strong knowledge of IT/Post-Production/VFX to support our New York Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and own all NY Help Desk tickets, escalating serious issues when necessary, while maintaining IT procedures and workflows

  • Perform computer setups and software/plug-in installs for arriving artists in the morning

  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Renders (Thinkbox/AWS Deadline)

  • Support with helping identify and troubleshooting of TCP/IP layer 2/3 LAN/WAN networks, escalating issues when necessary

  • Support hosted services and cloud computing environments escalating issues when necessary (Setting up users/password resets in G-Suite, Zoom Conference, Aspera, Xo/Verizon Hosted PBX, and some AWS services)

  • Update documentation and procedures in the IF Systems Wiki as the IT environment changes

  • Helping with monitoring of all IT devices, applications and services. Escalating issues when necessary

  • Assisting with IF Systems’ Server and Network Projects/Migrations/Upgrades between user support responsibilities

Skills:

1+ Year(s) Support Experience in an Entertainment Production Environment.

Experience with Cloud hosted services such as: O365, G-Suite (Google Apps), Aspera, AWS, Zoom Conference, etc.

Some knowledge of: Linux/Unix/Windows Server Technologies,

Mac OS configuration management software (Munki, Deploy Studio),

TCP/IP Network Troubleshooting, Firewall Maintenance (PFSense, Fortigate), VPNs,

Render Farm Monitoring and Troubleshooting (Deadline)

Excellent Troubleshooting Skills

Excellent Verbal and Written Skills

Flexibility and a Sense of Humor

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of High-End Video codecs and workflows

Knowledge of Creative applications: Adobe Creative Cloud, Maya, Cinema 4D, Flame, Avid, etc.

Supporting Video Conferencing systems (Zoom)

Some knowledge of scripting languages (BASH, Python, etc)
