Senior Director, Global Community - LA


The ideal candidate will act as an ambassador of the company’s vision and values, and will help create consistency in how we communicate by acting as a voice of what we represent and where we're going.

This is a highly strategic position for a person who not only can drive high profile product campaigns, but can also proactively build engaging programs geared towards our community.

This position will lead the Global Community team in analyzing, creating, and sharing relevant information, trends, and reports. This role will focus on short-term and long-term strategic growth across digital, mobile and social platforms and will focus on how to best support our backers and fans worldwide.


• Help develop and execute media relations strategy to communicate the creative vision and success of Star Citizen
• Construct external publications such as newsletters, releases, email announcements, planned publications, on-line, intranet, video, special projects and assignments, etc.
• Partner with internal team members to cohesively align both external and internal brand narratives to ensure consistency in messaging within and outside the organization.
• Foster strategic partnerships with relevant third party media outlets, key personalities, and influencers
• Analyze key indicators, trends, and benchmarks in content strategy, user interface, etc.
• Proactively identify strategic digital/social media needs and develop actionable recommendations
• Present trends, best practices, and recommendations for managing the community
• Monitor and interpret competitive market intelligence from other AAA games and industry trends
• Develop key messaging/positioning and execute campaigns to support our products


• Must have at least 7+ years’ experience in executing large community outreach programs
• Experience in cross-platform content, and deep understanding of the evolving media landscape
• Must be able to drive proactive, reactive and crisis communications, and is capable of working with cross-functional groups to achieve maximum communications objectives
• Skilled at product launches, strategic communications, executive communications and project management
• Ability to work well under pressure, juggle multiple tasks on tight deadlines, lead projects, and react quickly in time-sensitive scenarios.
• Proficient in data and research with the ability to analyze, interpret, and effectively communicate findings from large data sets
• Advanced PowerPoint (and/or alternative presentation software) and Excel skills
• Comfortable with presenting to large groups and senior executives
• Interest in digital media, social media, marketing, consulting, audience growth, content marketing, and strategy
• Strong understanding of how to give structure to complex ideas, and communicate these ideas through presentation materials improve quality and quantity of brand coverage.
• Coach and develop direct reports into premier marketing communications professionals.
• Provide elite tracking, monitoring, & measurement of communications coverage.
• High energy, maturity, and leadership who can be a unifying strength and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
• Works as a reliable and flexible teammate with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Can deftly and professionally handle all media types and independently troubleshoot on the fly.
• Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic environment.


• Previous experience working in the video game industry
