Senior Artist, Marketing (Temp)


Summary of Position:

Monolith Productions seeks a temporary Senior Marketing Artist to be responsible for creating high quality AAA competitive screenshots, and marketing illustrations for high profile game title(s). The Senior Marketing Artist has a strong sense for organization and problem solving, a passion for games, and the ability to work from direction. This is an individual contributor position and requires a full understanding of lighting, value structure, composition, contrapposto/character weighting and posing, basic animation principles and all aesthetic sensibilities required in creating industry competitive marketing visuals.  In addition, candidate should have a strong understanding of current and next gen game pipelines and associated technology and software. A portfolio/demo reel demonstrating an ability to create high quality in game visuals and/or marketing materials and concept/illustrations is required. Candidate will have a unique combination of strong technical skills combined with excellent illustration fundamentals. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Director of Art, compose AAA high quality screen shots and marketing illustrations in support of game marketing initiatives. 
  • Work with team members on further developing and improving quality and efficiency of screenshot tool pipeline.
  • Transfer key marketing initiatives into high quality consumer facing visuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

  • At least 5+ years experience in the industry.
  • At least 3 published current gen console games. Next Gen console tools/pipeline experience a plus.
  • Marketing illustration/concept experience a plus.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • BA in art or related field or equivalent experience


  • Experience working with a variety of game pipelines and engines and creating in game screenshots as well as additional marketing materials.
  • Strong background in traditional/fundamental art principles including: excellent color theory, composition, lighting, and realistic character posing skills.
  • A core understanding of basic lighting, animation/rigging, shader/material, vfx principals, and the fundamentals of digital application.
  • Wide understanding of lighting/rendering technologies.
  • Strong understanding with 3DSMax (or a leading 3D modeling package), Photoshop with the capacity to learn new tools, and artistic method.
  • Shows an able understanding of fundamental technical topics, and is capable of implementing them into their workflow to execute assignments.  
    Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for making and playing great games, with an awareness of current titles and industry trends.
