Layout Artist

Essential Functions

The Layout Artist creates sequences of shots that convey the story through the application of traditional filmmaking principles in a 3D computer graphics environment.

* Establish character blocking, camera positioning and animate camera movement.

* Provide technical set-up of shots for downstream production departments.

* Working from initial conceptual drawings, sketches layout and set dress packets.

Other Responsibilities

* Bachelor’s degree in Film, Animation or Fine Arts recommended, and 5+ years in a related field preferred.

* Reel containing examples of work in live-action or animated film that exhibits a strong emphasis on visual storytelling including staging, composition and editing., though not required.

* Excellent organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
