3D Environment Artist

Essential Functions

Job responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take part to the production of the game by creating, adapting or implementing all the essential 3D Environment elements for the success of the game.
•Learn and respect the artistic direction established (references, documents, etc.)
•Determine the objects and environments required and adjust the work according to the story and the gameplay (Game Design documents)
•Plan, with the immediate supervisor, the objects, characters and environments, to be created
•Create of objects and environments choosing the quality to achieve versus the importance in the game and technical constraints
•Have the objects and environments validated by the Lead Artist and the Artistic Director
•Verify the quality of objects and environments, once imported into the game, and make improvements when necessary
•Correct the bugs identified by the testers

Other Responsibilities

Job requirements:
•Enthusiasm and desire to work in the game development field
•Good knowledge of one or more 3D packages (Softimage|XSI, 3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, etc.)
•Recommendable good knowledge of Photoshop
.Recommendable knowledge of the technical constraints linked to real time, 3D engines and level editors.
•Good notion of proportions and an eye for the detail
•Expert on UV
•Zbrush (an asset)
•Accept and follow artistic direction/Able to accept criticism
•Good artistic sense
•Good sense of observation
•Eye for detail
•Creativity
•Good command of English
•Communicative and team player
•Willing to long-term commitment to the company
•University graduates or terminal year students are preferred
•1 to 3 years experience as a video game texture artist or other equivalent experiences is an asset
