Other Responsibilities

Qualified candidates should have the terminal degree or its equivalent in animation or a related field. A strong portfolio and industry experience are important. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate, by providing a DVD or Web site, expertise in modeling, surfacing/materials, lighting and camera placement. Proficiency in rigging and 3-D animation is also desired. Professors will be required to develop and extend students' awareness of digital art in the context of story, audience, previsualization, preproduction and teamwork for group production. Therefore, a keen understanding of commercial or independent filmmaking would be a major asset to the position. Ability to teach appropriate foundations courses will be desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level teaching experience, proven leadership skills and ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.
