Job Description and Responsibilities:
ANIMATION LAB, Israel is seeking TECHNICAL DIRECTORS in all CGI departments for its CGI Animated Feature film . Prior CGI TD experience in Feature Film, Video Games, or TV Series is required. Candidates must possess strong leadership & communication skills. Candidates must be willing to relocate for run-of-picture.
Requirements:
RIGGING TD

Evaluate the animation needs of a model then develop and execute a strategy for the rigging, skinning and blend shape requirements that meet the creative and production needs of the project. Work with the production team to determine the needs of each character’s range of motion and integrate them into new or existing rigs. Write scripts that enable the artists to work more efficiently in updating and revising character rigging, skinning, or blend shape requirements. Prior programming experience in MEL & PYTHON required.

MAYA SCRIPTER TD

Provide MAYA rigging, enveloping and tool development for visual effects animators. Research and develop 3rd party tools & plug-ins. Oversee, streamline, maintain and troubleshoot the rigging pipeline. Hands-on experience with simulation techniques for hair, flesh, cloth, rigid bodies, particle systems required. Programming skills, especially MEL/PYTHON, also required.

LEAD LIGHTING TD

Responsible for reviewing technical production processes and resolving technical production issues as they relate to lighting and rendering. Develop tools, scripts, plug-ins and any other frameworks needed to streamline the lighting process. Create lighting rigs to match color keys as provided by the art director. Strong prior programming experience in MEL & PYTHON required.

COMPOSITING TD

Develop software systems, techniques, and plug-ins for the CGI Compositing department. Build proprietary software, maintain and upgrade existing systems. Work directly with artists to define compositing workflow and interfaces. Work with the CGI Supervisor to devise new methods and techniques of Rendering. 5 years of C++ programming experience. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline, advanced degree preferred.

RENDERING TD

Monitor and maintain the operation of the Render Farm, memory, CPU usage, and Scene/Asset management. Develop, implement and monitor render queuing system. Advise and assist with bug-fixing of rendering software. Research and develop new custom tools for render management. Demonstrate production-standard solutions for tool development and rendering. Prior programming experience in MEL/PYTHON/BashScript required. Hands-on experience with RENDERMAN also required. We are a licensed RENDERMAN feature.
