- Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a publishing lead to join the creative development team in Irvine, California. Duties will include stewardship of Blizzard Entertainment’s creative publishing efforts as well as management of Blizzard Entertainment’s writing resources for the creative development team. This position will also assist with other team tasks as needed by the creative development department.
• Oversee Blizzard Entertainment’s creative publishing efforts – novels, anthologies, manga, graphic novels, etc.
• Work with Blizzard Entertainment’s licensing department in the development of future publishing ventures.
• Build and maintain relationships with our publishing partners and writing talent.
• Interface with creative leads from Blizzard Entertainment development teams.
• Perform other tasks as needed by the creative development department.
- Requirements:
- • Successfully published author in some capacity – novels, role-playing games, comics, etc.
• Superior writing and conceptualization skills
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Broad knowledge in many fantasy, science-fiction, and horror intellectual properties.
• Established contacts with writers, editors, publishers, etc.
- Desired Skills and Pluses:
- • Proficiency in asset manipulation software (Photoshop)
• 1+ years experience as an editor
• 1+ years experience in the publishing industry
• Experience as a line developer for a successful intellectual property
• Proficient knowledge in all of Blizzard Entertainment’s intellectual properties
