JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Harmonix is looking for a passionate Lead Artist to join our amazing team of senior game developers. The Lead Artist for External Projects will work closely with select external studios to provide art direction on future Harmonix titles.

All of our titles are meticulously crafted to reflect our vision and high standards. In addition to being an accomplished artist, this individual should have experience with managing projects in a game development environment, and have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will love music and have an open-minded approach to all music styles and genres.

This position offers potential for future leadership on internal projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Provide and oversee art direction for multiple external studios

* Embrace, adopt and extend Harmonix’s art direction and game development philosophy and methodology

* Develop and maintain healthy relationships with external teams

* Work closely with team leads to keep game milestone deliverables on time

* Provide inspiring art direction for projects on various game platforms
DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
* Minimum of 5 years game industry experience

* At least one shipped AAA title

* 360/PS3 and/or mobile game development experience

* Demonstrated concept art and drawing skills

* Proficiency in 3DS Max or equivalent 3D application

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Proven project management experience

* Bachelor’s degree. BFA from an accredited art school strongly preferred

* Eagerness to create games that do not follow traditional game-art styles
