Job Description and Responsibilities:
Background
The Media Processing Division (MPD) at ARM has a mission to become the leading provider of multimedia IP for the consumer, wireless, and automotive infotainment markets. This involves the development of both hardware and software products which form a unified and scalable solution to the increasing need to handle media content across a range of end user products.

Considerable success to date, combined with strong customer interest and market opportunity, requires the expansion of our capabilities to support pre-sales and post-sales customer engagements for graphics hardware and software products, together with support of ARM’s partners in its graphics Developer Relations program.

Role
We are seeking an accomplished engineer knowledgeable in computer-graphics application development (preferably OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and OpenVG) with a talent for communicating with developers and potential customers. In this role, you will interface with top-tier software professionals creating applications for gaming; web browsing; personal navigation devices and mobile phones; and everything in between. Additional responsibilities will include pre- and post-sales support of our sales force.
Team work is an essential aspect of the role working with Engineers from other Design Centers, marketing staff within the division, and our global sales force.
Requirements:
Required Attributes
• In-depth knowledge of computer graphics application development, including authoring programmable shaders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to author white papers, presentations, and technical sessions
• Superior C/C++ and assembly language programming skills, including a demonstrated ability to understand, debug, and optimize code, and multi-processor and systems programming
• Understanding of SoC design and integration issues (benchmarks, system power, memory bandwidth, PPA etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical disciplines
• The ability to juggle long term commitments with short term interrupts, and to deliver on both
• A high level of proactivity, initiative and problem solving. Able to take the lead and work independently
• The role is based in ARM’s Sunnyvale, California office, but travel will be required to visit engineering teams, customers and partners. This will be mostly (but not exclusively) within North America.

• In depth knowledge of one or more of other MPD technology areas: Embedded OSes, Video, Audio, Security and Java
• Knowledge of the ARM architecture
• Experience in CPU or GPU hardware design
• Some exposure to commercial activity (Marketing, Sales, Partnerships)
