JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop artistic and production methodology for effects systems.
- Create FX images (fire, fluids, smoke, explosions, destruction, dynamic simulation, procedural modeling, and procedural animation).
- Stay current with new and emerging technologies and attempt to implement them effectively.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous systems development including fire simulation and rendering, procedural fracturing and dynamics system, procedural tree modeling, Maya input and output system, hair simulation and rendering pipeline, plant rigging and animation system, footprint system, shader writing, and particle post-simulation manipulation pipeline.
- Experience writing scripts or expressions required (e.g. Mel, Csh, Perl). Aptitude in programming is also required (e.g. C, C++, Java).
- Technical and artistic creativity required.
DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
- Knowledge of MAYA is aplus, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or computer graphics in addition to 2-3 years production experience and shot work is a plus.
