Join an exciting team of professionals who build award-winning applications for the mobile/ desktop markets and are defining the Autodesk mobile and consumer user experience. This is a unique opportunity for a talented designer who is passionate about new media, storytelling and games to join the Digital Concept team as a Product Designer.

As a Product Designer, you will join a team of experienced and creative experts to initiate, conceptualize, and specify new emerging applications on multiple platforms (Mac, Windows and mobile devices). Building on your industry experience, you will assume a visionary role in expanding the Digital Concept Product Design team's knowledge and expertise of animation workflows, simulation and general game play.

The right candidate must possess a clear passion for creating captivating user experiences; enticing game play environments, who has a commitment to excellence, and the ability to see beyond the immediate challenges, several years into the future. The right candidate must also be flexible and be comfortable working with a wide range of projects, from vague to well-defined, and from simple to complex.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Work with the product management team to analyze new proposals and create early concepts
- Design user interfaces for different platforms.
- Document design solutions through sketches, wireframes, storyboards, UI flow charts, high fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes
- Prototype and validate proposed designs with customers and product development team.
- Ensure consistency of the user interface, the application workflows and visual language for each specific platform.
- Review, interpret and document defects related to new software application developments.
- Maintain familiarity with competitive software applications on different platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working as a user experience designer, game designer or visual designer
- An understanding of major elements of game design theory including story, dialogue, interface, character interaction, strategy, simulation, flow, balance and difficulty.
- Passion for and extensive knowledge of video games with the ability to draw on this knowledge within other applications
- Experience with simulation (physics), artificial intelligence and game logic engines
- Experience with animation packages (Maya, 3DS Max, Softimage) and animation workflow
- Experience with major design tools; multimedia, and operating system software: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Visio, Windows, Mac OS, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep track of minute details as well as the big picture while multi-tasking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating superior design skills
DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
Additional Desired Skills (an asset for the role):
- Experience designing for multi-touch devices
- Experience with prototyping tools (Flash, Expression Blend)
- Experience working as a game designer or game level designer

Education
- A degree or diploma in UX Design or a related field, with demonstrated equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
